Meet Samantha

About the Author

An avid lifelong reader of fiction of all sorts, there’s nothing I find more engrossing than an epic sci-fi-fantasy-romance series. I’ve spent countless hours of my life immersed in the richly-woven worlds that someone else was kind enough to put on paper, and I’ve always felt a debt of gratitude to these wonderful authors. The Stitch Trilogy – my debut series – is my humble attempt to return the favor.

My dream is to bring the same enjoyment and delight to readers that these authors have brought to my life. If you find yourself staying up just a little too late to finish another chapter, or sneaking into the bathroom at work to read when things are slow, I will know I have done my job!

I currently live in Westchester County, New York with four of the five loves of my life – my husband, Sudeep, my son, Kiran, my younger daughter, Mia, and my cat, Gio. My fifth love – my daughter, Alana – I carry in my heart, as she was tragically stillborn in 2013 just two days before her due date. In her honor, I write candidly about babyloss and grief and volunteer my time as the Executive Director of PUSH for Empowered Pregnancy in hopes of breaking the stigma around pregnancy/infant loss and preventing more stillbirths from happening.

People are often surprised to learn that I took a roundabout path of turning my passion into a career. Prior to pursuing writing full-time in 2010 as an independent author and freelance writer/consultant at my company, Medley Media Associates, I spent three years in software engineering at Microsoft. I am a 2007 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, where I earned degrees from Penn Engineering and the Wharton School, and was also valedictorian of Brewster High School in Brewster, NY, class of 2003.

In addition to penning novels and advocating for healthy pregnancy, more often than not these days I’m on full-time mom duty!
