Character Interview with Isaac (Guest Post)

This content was originally posted on www.alwaysyaatheart.com as part of the Shudder Blog Tour in 2013.

Hi Isaac, thank you so much for stopping by to talk to us today (Sigh - he is definitely a hottie).

(blushing) Thanks a lot for inviting me, Ellen, I’m happy to be here.

Can you tell us something about yourself that we don't learn from the book?

I harbor secret fantasies of overthrowing Paragon’s government… and keeping the entire city for myself, muahahahaha! JUST KIDDING! Seriously though, I’m a pretty straightforward guy – what you see is what you get, and I pretty much wear my heart on my sleeve whether I want to or not, so if you’ve been reading the books, you know me pretty well.

What is your author like?

She’s a sadist! God forbid she could have sent, I dunno, fluffy bunnies or something chasing after us in the woods… Haha. But no, she’s cool. She just has a very overactive imagination. At least she gave me Alessa for a partner – I can’t really complain about that at least.

How would you describe yourself?

Tall, brooding, handsome… I love long walks on the beach, and getting caught in the rain. (winking, laughs) Well, okay, I’m not exactly *brooding* per say (who likes brooding men anyway? shut up, all you ladies and your vampires…), but I *am* tall. I have light brown hair and dark blue eyes and I guess I’m an “athletic” build? I don’t know, what else do you want to know? I like to think I have a good sense of humor, and I’m protective of the people I love, and I’m dedicated to the things I do, like fighting in the resistance. I’m pretty logical-minded – I like to make rational decisions and figure problems out. That’s about it. I’m pretty normal, I’d say. (shrugs)

How do you think Alessa would describe you?

She’d probably say I’m too stubborn for my own good, but she keeps me around because she knows I love her unconditionally (even when SHE’S brooding) and I’m pretty handy with a knife. Also, that I make up for any of my other shortcomings in bed. (grinning)

What is your most prized possession?

We don’t have much in terms of physical *possessions* in Paragon, so I’d have to go with my memories of my family, before the war and everything. Particularly my brother, Joe.

What are your 3 greatest strengths?

Persistence, loyalty, and general easygoingness (is that a word?).

What are your 3 greatest weaknesses?

Is this a job interview or something? (laughs) I guess maybe I can be a little *too* determined sometimes, I’m not always as empathetic as I wish I was, especially when it comes to Less, and… just general insecurity about what other people think of me.

If you had to describe Alessa in a sentence, what would you say?

She’s the strongest, smartest, most reliable person I’ve ever known, and I trust her with every ounce of my being – I never would have made it this far without her.

If you had a day where you could do anything you wanted, what would you do?

Just RELAX. We’re just constantly on the go with this rebellion, whether we’re running from something, or on a mission of some sort, or plotting our next strike… it never ends. I’d love a day to just sit back and chill with Alessa, someplace warm with a lot of food. That would be really nice.

Can you share anything about what's in store for you and Alessa in the next book in the series?

I can’t share *too* much (Sam would kill me), but let’s just say that things are not going to be exactly… simple… in our fight against Paragon and the Engineers. There are a few surprises in store that are going to require us to think pretty creatively about how to take them down. I think readers will enjoy it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today Isaac. It was great talking to you

Thanks again for having me, Ellen! It was a pleasure.

(sigh again - the view of him walking out the door is just as hot as the view of him walking in).
