Sayings SMACKDOWN with Janie & Lizzie (Guest Post)

This content was originally posted on coffeebooksandme.blogspot.com as part of the Shudder Blog Tour in 2013.

Welcome everyone to today’s exciting edition of Sayings SMACKDOWN featuring Janie and Lizzie from the Stitch Trilogy!

“What is Sayings Smackdown?” you ask? Well, ladies and gents, you’re in for a treat. Sayings Smackdown is a fun, quick game where your favorite characters will weigh in with their opinions on common idioms and proverbs. You just never know what they’re going to say next!

Okay, let’s get started!

Round 1: Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Janie: Well no one’s ever gifted me a horse so I can’t speak from experience, but yeah, you should be grateful for whatever gifts come your way. Otherwise you’re just plain rude!

Lizzie: Agreed. Living in a post-apocalyptic society, you come to appreciate the little things. Every day here is a gift, even when it’s hard.

Round 2: All’s well that ends well.

Lizzie:Sure. As long as things work out okay for everyone involved, it doesn’t matter how you got there, right?

Janie: I’m not so sure I agree with that… Just because things end up okay doesn’t mean that some seriously messed up things didn’t happen to get to that point. Just look at Paragon – sure, maybe our leaders mean well, but that doesn’t mean we’re not all suffering anyway. Hey! I’ve got another saying for you: “Anything that’s worth doing is worth doing well.” That applies here, I think.

Round 3: What goes up must come down.

Janie: Um, I pretty much failed physics, so I’m going to sit this one out…

Lizzie: Haha, I don’t think they’re looking for a science lesson here, Janie. I’d say this is true. Sometimes things are good, sometimes they’re terrible, but in the end, hopefully it should all balance out to some semblance of normal.

Round 4: Bad news travels fast.

Lizzie: Uh, after spending a semester in a sorority, I can promise you that this is unequivocally true!

Janie: Ditto. :-)

Let’s have a round of applause for our contestants! Big thanks to Janie and Lizzie for joining us for this edition of Sayings SMACKDOWN. And stay tuned to the Shudder Blog Tour all summer long for future episodes featuring more of your favorite characters from the Stitch Trilogy!
